Espace Europe Ltd is setting its sights on making a major impact
at the Mustard Awards 2003, after the first round of judging saw
them put forward for the high-growth initiatives Grand Final
on October 2nd.
The leading freight forwarders have already beaten off competition
from over 30 companies and now face a three-horse race to walk off
with the Best Young Business accolade.
A delighted Vic Wileman, Mustard.uk.com Co-ordinator for Staffordshire,
explained:
"This news highlights the sheer depth of entrepreneurial talent we have
in the region and how innovative businesses, with the right support and guidance,
continue to drive the wheels of economic growth."
"The initiative is all about creating dynamic, high-growth companies and
Espace has all these traits in abundance."
The company, based in the heart of Lichfield, has revolutionised
the face of freight forwarding by combining a revolutionary marketing
campaign with a customer-focused approach to delivering solutions
on time and to budget.
It seems to be an approach that is paying dividends, with the firm
taking just three years to smash the £3m barrier and to establish
clear routes into twelve international destinations, including France,
Germany, Scandinavia and Spain.
Steve Bennett, Founder of Jungle.com and the driving force behind
Factory Outlet Television, is playing a key role with the judging
process and believes that the quality of short-listed companies is
reassuring for the future development of the West Midlands.
"Good ideas are one thing, but the ability to turn these concepts into commercial
reality is priceless. The twelve enterprises that have made it this far all share
this ingredient and I, for one, believe that this will help our region make the
transformation into a truly 21st century centre of innovation and business excellence."
Sponsored by Natwest and PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Solid Gold Talent
Awards aim to celebrate the West Midlands finest entrepreneurs
and the role they continue to play in ensuring wealth and job creation.
